What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee is a mixed gender non-contact sport. The sport requires very little equipment – just a frisbee disc, cones, and a flat space to play! Ultimate is player-refereed through Spirit of the Game.

What do students learn?

Students will learn how to throw, catch, and play a game of Ultimate. The focus is to develop athleticism and improve coordination. Through games and exercises the students will practice core skills of listening and following instructions through a player-refereed sport. Beyond mastering the fundamentals of throwing, catching, and gameplay, participants in Brighton Youth Ultimate gain invaluable life skills. From conflict resolution and communication to cooperation and responsibility, our sessions are designed to cultivate well-rounded individuals both on and off the field. Through player-refereed matches, students hone essential skills such as decision-making, teamwork, and self-regulation.

Do students need prior experience to join the club?

No prior experience is required! BYU welcomes students of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players.

What equipment do students need to bring?

Students only need to bring sports clothes suitable for outdoor activities and a water bottle. All necessary Ultimate Frisbee equipment, including discs and cones, will be provided by the club.

Is Ultimate Frisbee a safe sport for students to play?

Yes, Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact sport with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play. Our coaches ensure that safety guidelines are followed during all club activities.
